Alofi, August 13, 2018. - On the occasion of the visit of the Ambassador of Cuba, Mario Alzugaray, the Prime Minister of Niue, Sir Toke Tufukia Talagi KNZM, showed his interest in promoting medical cooperation of the Caribbean country with the nation of the Pacific.
The visit of the Cuban diplomat is the first of an official from his country to Niue, after the signing of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2014. During the meeting with Premier Talagi, copies of the letters addressed to the Governor General, that accredit him as Ambassador to the government of Niue were also delivered.
Niue is a country with self-government in free association with New Zealand, as established in the Constitution approved in 1974.
During his visit to Niue, Ambassador Alzugaray met with other local officials and attended the Lakepa Village Showday. (Embacuba NZ)
