Cuba and Pakistan hold Sixth Round of Bilateral Political Dialogue

Havana, April 28, 2025 - The Sixth Round of Bilateral Political Dialogue between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan was held on Monday. The meeting was chaired by Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo and the Under Secretary for the Americas of the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, H.E. Ms. Mariam Madeeha Aftab.

During the talks, the diplomats exchanged views on issues of common interest in bilateral relations, noting that this year marks the 70th anniversary of their establishment. They also discussed issues on the regional and international agenda.

The Additional Secretary thanked Cuba for its assistance after the devastating earthquake that hit Pakistan in October 2005 and highlighted the training of more than 900 Pakistani doctors in the Caribbean nation.

For her part, the Cuban Deputy Minister acknowledged Pakistan's historic stance in support of the Cuban Resolution against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US government.

In the context of the Consultations, it was agreed to strengthen bilateral collaboration in areas such as biotechnology, education, culture, sports and disaster management.

The Political Consultations took place in a fraternal atmosphere, in keeping with the historical and friendly relations between both nations, based on mutual respect and cooperation for the benefit of our peoples.
