Islamabad, May 22, 2018. Cuba and Pakistan signed today a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Library of Cuba "José Martí" and the National Library of Pakistan. The MoU was signed by the Secretary of the National and Literary History Division of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Eng. Aamir Hasan, and the ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Gabriel Tiel Capote. The purpose of the Memorandum is to strengthen the cordial and friendly relations existing between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Republic of Cuba to share experiences and knowledge in the field of Library Science and for the exchange of library materials, for mutual benefit. In his words of thanks, the ambassador said he was convinced that the signing of this MoU between both libraries will contribute to further root the exchanges between Cuba and Pakistan, for the benefit of both peoples and countries. Prior to the signing, the Secretary of the National and Literary History Division and the Ambassador of Cuba held a brief meeting during which they analyzed the perspectives that open with the signing of this MoU. Also participated in the signing Mr. Irfan Siddiqui, adviser to the Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage, the joint secretary of the Division of National History and Literary Heritage, Mr. Syed Junaid Akhlaq, and the Director of Canada and Latin America of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sajjad Haider Khan.
