Cuba and Saint Kitts and Nevis are committed to continuing cooperation in health matters.

Basseterre, September 13, 2024 - On this Thursday afternoon, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba David Rivero Pérez and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health of this Federation, Curtis Martin, held a working meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry itself.

The main objective of the meeting was aimed at reviewing the current cooperation agreement, which will be renewed in the coming months, based on the will of both parties to continue strengthening ties in this matter, which have now been in place for three decades.

Likewise, the occasion was propitious to address other aspects of common interest related to the performance of the Cuban Medical Brigade, today with twelve members working in Basseterre and another five in Charlestown, Nevis.

Once again, gratitude was expressed to Cuba for its contribution to the health of the people of this Federation, both from the point of view of healthcare and the training of its human resources.

Dr. Odalis Abreu Guirado, Epidemiologist and Head of the Cuban Medical Brigade and Ms. Glenniver Sargeant, Human Resource Manager, also participated in the meeting.
