The Ministry of Education of Cuba (MINED) and the Department of Education, Innovation, Gender Relations and Sustainable Development of Saint Lucia today signed a Cooperation and Technical Assistance Agreement in the area of education. The Agreement was signed at the office of the Ministry in the city of Castries; by the Saint Lucian Minister in this field, Honorable Dr. Gale T. Rigobert while MINED was represented by the Cuban Ambassador, Alejandro Simancas Marin. The said Agreement has an objective to regulate the cooperation and technical assistance relations that MINED will offer in the fields of Literacy for young persons and adults, through the application of the “Yes I can” (“Yo, sí puedo”), attention to early-childhood education, the teaching of Mathematics, curriculum design, the implementation of extra-curricular activities and the development of educational technology programs.
