Riyadh, August 14th - The Ambassador of Cuba, Vladimir Gonzalez, was received by Dr. Adel Hassan Al-Omrani, Acting Director General of the Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies, at the headquarters of this prestigious academic institution, in charge of the training and preparation of Saudi diplomats.
During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat thanked Dr. Al-Omrani for the opportunity to visit the institute and proposed to evaluate the possibility of establishing cooperation ties with his Cuban counterpart, the "Raúl Roa García" Higher Institute of International Relations (ISRI).
The Acting Director General accepted the proposal, stating that for this it is only necessary that the Cuban side conveys to the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs its interest in establishing relations between the respective diplomatic institutes and, once the approval of this Ministry is received, they would proceed to negotiate and sign the corresponding bilateral cooperation program.
Dr. Al-Omrani said that Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies, founded in 1979, maintains relations of exchange and collaboration with several similar institutions in different countries of the world. In addition, although its headquarters are in Riyadh, it has representations in different regions of the Kingdom to develop its academic activity.
This institute has the name of its founder Prince Saud bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, also known as Saud Al-Faisal, who was a prominent Saudi diplomat and politician, member of the royal family and minister of foreign affairs between 1975 and 2015. (EmbaCuba Arabia Saudita)
