Cuba and Saudi Arabia review their relations at the parliamentary level

Riyadh, June 15th - Ambassador Vladimir Gonzalez was received at the headquarters of the Consultative Council (Shura) by its member and president of the Saudi Arabia-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Committee, Dr. Ibrahim bin Mahmoud Al-Nahas, with the purpose of reviewing the state of bilateral relations in the legislative field.

During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat delivered the letter from the president of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP), Esteban Lazo Hernandez, addressed to the president of the Shura Council, Dr. Abdullah bin Mohamed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, thanking him for the congratulations previously sent on the occasion of the re-election in its high responsibility.

Likewise, he handed over the integration of the new Cuba-Saudi Arabia Parliamentary Friendship Group in the ANPP, created shortly after the latter was constituted and the X legislative period began, following the general elections of March 26th, 2023. This group is headed by the member of parliament George Americo Batista Perez.

Dr. Al-Nahas thanked all the documentation received, while congratulating the new parliamentary friendship group and its leader, assuring that they will continue to work bilaterally with the same interest and enthusiasm just like it was done with the predecessor.

Both parties also took advantage of this opportunity to review the bilateral ties between the Kingdom and Cuba in other spheres, highlighting the recent visit to Cuba by the Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Board of Directors, as well as the celebration in Havana of the V round of political consultations between both foreign ministries.
