Cuba and Saudi Arabia set up Joint Business Council

Riyadh, November 27th – With the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba (CCRC) and the Federation of Saudi Chambers (FSC), the Joint Business Council between both countries was officially established. It will allow to better enjoy future business and investment opportunities, in order to promote economic and commercial relations.

The document was signed by the president of the CCRC, Antonio Carricarte Corona, and his Saudi counterpart, Mr. Hassan Muajeb Al-Hwaizy.

During the virtual signing ceremony, Carricarte expressed that this represents an important step to expand relations between the business sectors of both nations and in the short term the Cuban side will present the initiative of a work plan for the Joint Business Council during the year 2024, which will include the exchange of trade missions and participating in the respective international fairs.

At the beginning of last October, an important delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, visited the Kingdom, as part of the efforts of the Cuban government to promote the economic and commercial relations with the Gulf region.

The program of this visit included an interesting meeting with President Al-Hwaizy, where they agreed to promote further relations and cooperation between the respective chambers of commerce, which reached its highlight with the signing of this legal instrument. (EmbaCuba Saudi Arabia)
