Cuba and Singapore strengthen parliamentary friendship

Singapore, May 1st, 2026. The Cuban Ambassador to Singapore, H.E Lisbet Quesada Luna, paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Ang Wei Neng, Member of Parliament and Chairperson of the Singapore-Latin America and Caribbean Regional Parliamentary Group.
 
Both sides discussed areas where Singapore and Cuba can strengthen bilateral cooperation, as well as the importance of parliamentary relations as a fundamental and comprehensive basis for reinforcing friendship, mutual understanding, and exchanges between our peoples. 
 
The Cuban diplomat briefed Mr. Ang on the island's complex economic situation, characterized by an illegal and unjustified energy blockade and the impact of the U.S. blockade against Cuba. 
 
Both sides agreed on the significance of 2027, the year in which the 30th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations will be celebrated and Singapore will assume the ASEAN presidency.
