Istanbul, August 7, 2021. The Cuban ambassador to Turkey, Luis A. Amorós Núñez, and the rector / president of the prestigious Bahcesehir University of the Eurasian country, Prof. Dr. Sirin Karadeniz, signed yesterday the Cooperation and Assistance Agreement Technical in the Educational Area between the Ministry of Education of Cuba and the University of Bahcesehir.
Officials from the Cuban diplomatic mission and the renowned university participated in the ceremony, held at the university headquarters in Istanbul.
In their statements, both representatives agreed that the agreement constitutes a tool to develop joint cooperation and technical assistance projects in the educational area, and they discussed possible actions in this regard.
Amorós stressed that the agreement shows the interest of both countries to expand bilateral cooperation and highlighted his confidence in the development of joint actions planned to expand the preparation of human resources in computer science, educational technologies and software engineering. He also stressed that it is part of the efforts of both parties to take advantage of the existing potential in the two countries.
For her part, the Rector recognized Cuba's high educational level and stressed that the agreement offers a great opportunity for cooperation with Cuban educational institutions in different areas, including academic exchange and the training and qualification of personnel.
Bahcesehir University, founded in 1998, is one of the largest universities in Turkey, with 8 faculties, 1 language school, 2 vocational schools and four institutes providing postgraduate training. The BAU has also an associated network of 18 primary schools, 47 secondary schools and 177 educational centers in Turkey. The university received an award for excellence in 2007.
