The member of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State, held a meeting with the head of the Türkiye-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Grand National Assembly of this Eurasian country, Selman Özboyacı.
In the friendly conversation, Lazo Hernández thanked the Turkish deputy for the opportunity to develop this dialogue, a sign of the strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties, cooperation and solidarity between our peoples. He stressed that in the 10th Legislature of the Cuban Parliament there is a solid Parliamentary Friendship Group with this country, chaired by Deputy Yury Valdés Balbín, member of the Council of State and deputy director of the Finlay Institute of Vaccines.
Both sides recognised the vast potential for increased bilateral collaboration in sectors such as agriculture, renewable energy, tourism, biotechnology, among others.
Also present from the Cuban side were Juan Carlos Marsán, deputy head of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Party; Alejandro Díaz Palacios, Cuban ambassador to Turkey; among other directors and officials of the Auxiliary Offices of the National Assembly.
