Cuba and Uganda exchange on preparations for the G-77+China Summit.

Kampala. Between May 15 and 19, a delegation headed by Ambassador Pedro Luis Pedroso, Special Representative and Coordinator of the Presidency of Cuba of Group 77 plus China, visited Uganda, country who will host the Summit of Heads of State of said group to be held in January 2024.

During his stay, he developed a program that included exchanges with the Organizing Committee of the event and with the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as well as toured the main facilities prepared to host this great event.

During the press conference that concluded the work program, Ambassador Pedroso highlighted the efforts made by Uganda to be a worthy venue and pointed out that it is imperative to work together and face the challenges that the pandemic has imposed on us: the worsening of economic challenges and social, the destruction of the supply chain, in addition to the effects of climate change.

Parts of the delegation were Ambassador Ana Silvia Rodriguez, Director of International Organizations of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Mourad Amia, Executive Secretary of the Group of 77 plus China in New York.
