Cuba condemns before the General Assembly the limitations of the Security Council and claims for comprehensive reform of that organ.

New York; June 5, 2026. - The Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, addressed today the plenary meeting of the General Assembly dedicated to the presentation of the Annual Report of the Security Council for the year 2025, in which he reiterated the urgent need to transform that organ to make it more democratic, representative, transparent and relevant to the realities of today's world.

Cuba, the GAE, and the United States: Anatomy of a State Slander

The GAE is not an opaque structure, nor is it parallel to the Cuban state; on the contrary, it has been a well-coordinated and proven effective response to the economic blockade that has historically sought to strangle the Cuban Revolution
The United States government has once again acted with premeditated intent in its eagerness to create pretexts to discredit the Cuban Revolution, its historical leadership, and its leaders, thereby confusing both our people and international public opinion.

The Executive Order of May 1st and the blockade measures announced today increase the harm to the Cuban population and reinforce the threat of aggression.

Statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs The Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejects, in the strongest terms, the Executive Order issued by the White House on May 1, 2026, which intensifies, to extreme and unprecedented levels, the economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba. Likewise, it condemns the decision of the United States Treasury Department of May 7, 2026, which added the Cuban entities Gaesa and MoaNickel SA to the List of Specially Designated Nationals, this being the first coercive measure derived from the order signed on May 1.

Cuba Reaffirms at the UN the Urgency of Guaranteeing the Right to Development and Denounces the Impact of Coercive Measures

New York, April 21, 2026 — The Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, addressed the general debate of the 13th session of the Expert Mechanism on the Right to Development, where he reiterated Cuba’s unwavering commitment to this human right and called for renewed international momentum in the context of its 40th anniversary. The diplomat emphasized that the current international economic order constitutes a structural obstacle to the realization of the right to development and undermines the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.

As long as there is a woman and a man willing to give their life for the Revolution, we’ll be victorious! Cuba lives under the constant siege of the United States government, whose threats have escalated in recent months. Adding to the ruthless energy siege—which has worsened the genocidal blockade policy over the past six decades—are statements by representatives of the U.S. governmental elite threatening military aggression. The human and material cost of that blockade is a shame borne by the greatest empire in history.
