Bujumbura, Burundi: African Youth Capital on 29 and 30 August 2024.

Bujumbura. On the morning of August 31, on the occasion of the event “Youth and Emerging Economy in Africa: Impact of the CNDD-FDD Youth League in the construction of Burundi as an emerging country for 2040 and a developed country for 2060”, the Cuban Ambassador greeted His Excellency Evariste Ndayashimiye, President of the Republic of Burundi.

The event was attended by youth leaders from several African countries and was closed with a massive and colourful event led by Burundian youth.

Burundian Minister of Health receives Cuban Ambassador

Bujumbura. On the morning of August 31, the Honorable Dr. Liduine Baradahana received the Cuban Ambassador Tania Pérez Xiqués at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health and Fight against HIV/AIDS of Burundi.

During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat reiterated the invitation sent by the Cuban Minister of Health to his Burundian counterpart to participate in the 2025 Health Convention to be held in Havana, Cuba in April of next year.

Cuba and Burundi: excellent political cooperation in the multilateral arena.

Bujumbura. On the morning of August 30, Cuban Ambassador Tania Pérez Xiqués was received by Mr. Delphin Ndayemeye, Director of International Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Burundi.

The head of the Cuban diplomatic mission thanked the government and people of Burundi for their continued support for Cuba's historic struggle against the US blockade.

For his part, the Burundian diplomat praised the performance of Cuban diplomacy in the multilateral arena.

Cuba and Burundi enjoy excellent political cooperation in the multilateral arena.

Cuba and Burundi confirm priority given to consolidating their bilateral relations.

Bujumbura. On the morning of August 30, Ambassador Ernest NIYOKIMDI, head of the Department of Bilateral Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation for Development of Burundi, and Cuban Ambassador Tania Pérez Xiqués held a meeting at the Foreign Ministry of that African nation.

Both diplomats evaluated the current state of bilateral relations, as well as the priorities for joint work for the period 2024-2025.

Cuba and Burundi celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations last February.
