Cuba and Uganda ratify will to strengthen their bilateral relations

UGANDA, September 11, 2018.- The Minister of State for International Relations of the Ugandan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Honorable Henry Okello Oryem, received the Cuban Ambassador in the East African country, Antonio Luis Pubillones Izaguirre, at the Foreign Ministry's headquarters on Tuesday.

During the meeting, which took place in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, both diplomats reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and reiterated the will of their governments and peoples to continue working together to strengthen them, as well as the expansion of the bonds of collaboration, solidarity and friendship between Cuba and Uganda.

The meeting was also favorable for the Ambassador to reiterate the gratitude of the Government and people of Cuba to the Government and people of Uganda for the traditional support of that brother country to the Cuban Resolution against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba by the States United.

Minister Okello Oryem, for his part, reaffirmed the commitment of his Government to stand by the people of Cuba in their just struggle for the lifting of the blockade. (Cubaminrex-Embacuba Uganda)
