Uganda October 30, 2018.- The Honorable Minister of State for International Relations, Henry Okello Oryem, received the Cuban Ambassador in the African country, Antonio Luis Pubillones Izaguirre, at the headquarters of the Ugandan Foreign Ministry this Tuesday morning.
During the fraternal meeting, both parties reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and agreed on immediate actions aimed at their development. They also agreed to continue working to strengthen ties of solidarity and cooperation, particularly in the areas of health and higher education, as well as in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.
The Cuban diplomat confirmed the interest and commitment of Cuba to continue promoting cooperation between the two countries and thanked the traditional support of Uganda for the struggle of the Cuban people against the blockade imposed by the US. for almost six decades.
The Minister, for his part, reaffirmed that his country will vote again tomorrow at the United Nations General Assembly in favor of the Cuban draft resolution entitled "Need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba, as it has traditionally done.
