New York, August 10th, 2023.- The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Gerardo Peñalver Portal, held a meeting with the Deputy Secretary General of the UN, Amina Mohammed.
During the exchange, both parties discussed the common agenda for sustainable development, the status of compliance with the 2030 Agenda, the role of the United Nations and the role played by Cuba at the head of the Group of 77 and China in the face of current challenges.
In January 2023, Cuba assumed the presidency of the G-77 for the first time and China, the main negotiating bloc of developing countries.
