Abuja, January 12th, 2026.- The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Miriam Morales Palmero, together with members of the Cuban Diplomatic Mission, visited the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to sign the Book of Condolences opened in response to the brutal, atrocious, and illegal terrorist attack perpetrated by the Government of the United States against the sister nation of Venezuela on June 3, an act in which more than one hundred people were murdered.
Representing Venezuela were the Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Mr. Álvaro Guzmán, and the Minister Counsellor, Mr. Luis Ernesto Pineda, who received the Cuban delegation in an atmosphere of deep respect and solemn reflection.
The solemn act paid tribute to the fallen combatants who gave their lives in defense of the sovereignty of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, its people, its legitimate institutions, and its constitutional President, Nicolás Maduro Moros, as well as his wife, Cilia Flores. It was a moment of profound shared grief between two brotherly nations, united by history, solidarity, and the firm defense of their independence.
This crime, the result of cruelty, contempt for human life, and a total absence of ethical values, reflects the aggressive policy of a State led by a vile and selfish man such as President Donald Trump, whose actions have sown mourning, destruction, and instability among peoples who resist domination and imperialism.
Cuba reiterated its strongest condemnation of this terrorist act, its unwavering solidarity with the people and Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and its firm commitment to the defense of peace, self-determination, and the sovereignty of nations.
