Cuba and Zimbabwe discuss ways of cooperation in education
The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education of Zimbabwe, Dr. Lazarus Dokora and the Minister of Education of Cuba Dr. Ena Elsa Velázquez analyzed new avenues of cooperation in the area of education.
This occurred when the Zimbabwean minister received his Cuban counterpart today as part of his visit to the southern African country, following an invitation to the 3rd International Education Conference to be held in Harare on August 30 to the 1 of September.
During the meeting, attended by several directors of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education in Zimbabwe, Dr. Dokora appreciated the good relations of cooperation that exist between the two ministries and reiterated the will to further expand those links.
The Cuban minister was accompanied by Dr. Silvia Navarro, director of the Central Institute for Pedagogical Research in Cuba and Cuban ambassador to Zimbabwe H.E. Elio Savón
The Zimbabwean minister acknowledged the work done by the two Cuban experts who recently advised the country on the establishment of the Center for Research, Innovation and Education Development (CERID) in Zimbabwe.
