Harare, 04.04.23. The Chargé d´Affaires a.i. of Cuba in Zimbabwe, Yoisy Ford García, held a fraternal meeting with the designated ambassador of Zimbabwe to Cuba, Mr. Paul Chikawa. The occasion was propitious to highlight the historical ties of friendship between both nations and mutual support for the blockades and sanctions imposed by Western countries. On April 20, the 43rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations will be commemorated.
Ambassador Chikawa conveyed the importance of Cuba for Zimbabwe and the desire to continue strengthening political relations and cooperation between both countries. He considered Cuba's contribution to the independence of African countries, including Zimbabwe, and the war against Apartheid to be crucial. On the other side, the Cuban diplomat highlighted the good state of relations and the interest in diversifying collaboration in sectors of common interest.
