Cuba and Zimbabwe strengthen triangular cooperation in education.

Zimbabwe, June 2, 2017. The specialists of the Central Institute of Pedagogical Sciences of Cuba Dr. Alberto Diego Valle Lima and Dr. Pedro Luis Castro Alegret, arrived today in Harare, Zimbabwe with the objective of offering technical advice to the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education for the creation of a Center for Research and Pedagogical Innovation, a project supported by UNICEF.

During their stay the Cuban professors who were received at the airport by the island's ambassador Elio Savón and officials from the Zimbabwe Ministry of Education will hold meetings with education directors from the different provinces and will carry out a program of work with the objective to make the assessments in the areas selected by the Zimbabwean side.

This advisory was requested by the Minister of primary and Secondary Education, Dr. Lazarus Dokora during his visit to Cuba to participate in the PEDAGOGY 2017 Conference where he met with his Cuban counterpart, Dr. Ena Elsa Velázquez, and explained the process of perfecting the educational system that Is being carried out in Zimbabwe to raise the professional quality of teachers and their permanence in the education sector.

A Memorandum of Understanding that extends the cooperation between the two Ministries of Education of the two countries has been drafted and is due to be signed of the respective ministers.
