Jakarta, August 8, 2017. The Cuban Embassy attended the "The 4th Host Country Committee Meeting on Immigration and Consular Affairs", organized by the authorities of the General Directorate of Immigration from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and the General Directorate of Protocol and Consular Affairs from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, of Indonesia.
The event was attended by the top representatives of both agencies, the Director General of Immigration Ronny Sompie and the Director General of Protocol and Consular Affairs Andri Hadi, as well as other senior officials such as the Director of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Didik Eko Pujianto and the Secretary of the General Directorate of Immigration Friement Aruan.
The meeting featured separately presentations from the organizers, a joint Panel Conference, exchange sessions and working meetings. During the event, the exhibitors discussed various topics such as facilitation of the procedures for the application of visas and residence permits for foreign businessmen, investors and experts; the main threats Indonesia faces at its borders, including terrorism, drug and human trafficking, and fraud and cyber-crime, among others; and the progress and prospects of visa and residence permits policies.
The event was attended by representatives from over 120 countries, including 74 of them at the embassy level, including Cuba, Chile, Portugal, Sri Lanka, Oman, Ecuador, Panama, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, East Timor, Palestine, Ukraine, Spain and Belgium, among others.
