New York, May 3rd, 2023.- Elba Rosa Pérez Montoya, Cuban minister of Science, Technology and Environment, led a delegation to the annual session of the international meeting Petersberg Climate Dialogue which aims at setting up the scenary to the United Nations conferences on Climate Change.
The Cuban Minister held a meeting with Mr. Sultán al-Jaber, President-designate of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of the Parties to be celebrated in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, during November 20th and December 12th, 2023.
The exchange was attended by Ambassador Pedro L. Pedroso, president of the Group of the 77 and China, who availed the opportunity to reiterate Dr. Al-Jaber the Group´s support to his chairmanship.
Likewise, Perez Montoya expressed the support of Cuba to the Emirati chairmanship, commented on Cuba´s priorities, including the results on science on climate change and the implementation of the State Plan (Tarea Vida), as well as the interest to increase the cooperation in this sphere to be held in Havana, next July, 2023.
