The Cuban Embassy in Ghana joined paid to the 54th Anniversary of African Unity, in activity held in the residence of the Ambassador, Pedro Luis González Despaigne.
The Cuban diplomat highlighted the history of the creation of the African Union, the Cuban participation as observer member of the Organization, the pride of being part of the African diaspora and the contribution received from Africans in the formation of the our nationality. It was also reaffirmed the unbreakable ties of friendship, and the happiness for having contributed in the fight for the independence in several African countries and the commitment to continue strengthening the bonds of cooperation, with specific example in the thousands of Africans who have studied in the island and thousands of Cuban collaborators who are providing services in the continent.
There were in the event, by the Ghanaian side, the former Ambassador to Cuba, Mr Kojo Owusu Gyamadua Amoo-Gottfried; the trade union leader and First National Vice President of the Trade Unions Congress (TUC), Mr. Alexander Nyarko-Opoku; members of the solidarity movement to Cuba, including the leader of the Socialist Forum of Ghana, Mr. Kwesi Pratt; a broad representation of the Ghanaian who studied for several years in Cuba, the so called "cubanitos", as well as young people, who being students of the University of Ghana, received courses in Spanish language in the University of Cienfuegos, among other attendees.
By the Cuban side were also presented members of the Cuban Medical Brigade, Cubans resident in the country, as well as members of the diplomatic mission.
