Geneva, 22 September 2025 — Cuba categorically rejected the hostile actions against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela at the Human Rights Council.
Cuban Ambassador Rodolfo Benítez Verson stated that the mechanism imposed by the Council against Venezuela responds to a political agenda that uses human rights as a pretext to intervene in the internal affairs of a sovereign State.
‘If there is a genuine desire to contribute to the cause of human rights in Venezuela, there must be an immediate demand for an end to the inhumane and illegal unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Venezuelan people, which seek to subjugate them through economic and political means in the most cruel manner,’ the Cuban diplomat said in his speech.
He reiterated the Island's solidarity with the Venezuelan government and people in the face of the escalating actions of the United States government to justify military aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
