Cuba's Deputy Foreign Minister, Josefina Vidal, today insisted on unity to achieve sustainable development, speaking at the XXVII Ordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), reported Prensa Latina.
In the conclave held virtually, the government representative emphasized the need for cooperation and solidarity to face phenomena such as climate change and guarantee peace in the region.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the meeting Cuba reaffirmed its will to decisively support the common efforts that favor progress in the territories of the area.
Therefore, he ratified his willingness to support the revitalization of the ACS, for the benefit of the peoples of the Greater Caribbean, based on the founding principles of the Association.
The meeting, held under the presidency of Mexico, sought to adopt an Action Plan for the 2022-2028 six-year period, which allows establishing priorities and coordinating the confrontation of challenges such as the situations derived from the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on the economies.
