The Cuban representative conveyed to the judges and the international community elements aimed to respect and comply with International Law. Likewise, the need to address Israel's continued violations of the rights of the Palestinian people for more than 70 years was emphasized.

During her intervention, the Vice Minister expressed that “The Advisory Opinion should establish the legal implications for Israel, other States and the United Nations for the violations of the norms against the threat or use of force; equal rights and self-determination of peoples; as well as of the main international human rights instruments; the Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War; the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide; and the continued non-compliance with decisions of the UN General Assembly, Security Council and the International Court of Justice. "

After providing all the legal elements that support the intervention carried out by Cuba, Deputy Minister Rodríguez Camejo respectfully requested, on behalf of the Republic of Cuba, the prompt issuance of an Advisory Opinion against the many years of genocidal impunity, clearly stating the international implications and responsibilities of those who, one way or the other, contribute to the extermination of the Palestinian people.

The hearings will continue to be held until February 26, where a total of 51 states and 3 international organizations will present their assessments on the case to the court.
