New York, June, 1st, 2023.- Within the framework of the 21st period of sessions of the United Nations High-Level Committee on South-South Cooperation, Cuba denounced the unprecedented intensification of the blockade imposed by the United States and the arbitrary inclusion of the Greater Antilles in the list of States. sponsors of Terrorism.

During her intervention in the thematic debate on post-pandemic recovery and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development through South-South and triangular cooperation, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Ana T. González Fraga explained that the multiple and common challenges faced by developing countries are aggravated in the case of Cuba by the blockade unilaterally imposed by the United States, which has been intensified without precedent in the context of the pandemic.

She also pointed out that this exponential impact has been reinforced by the arbitrary and unjustified inclusion of Cuba in the List of States supposedly sponsoring Terrorism, issued by the US Department of State.

He said that this measure "gravates all areas of the country's socioeconomic life, as it implies a reinforcement of the difficulties of the Greater Antilles to insert itself in international trade, carry out financial operations and acquire basic supplies for the population and the national development”.
