New York, April 13, 2022.- In a session of joy for Cuba, the island was elected to four bodies of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations.
As of this decision, Cuba will maintain its membership in the following ECOSOC subsidiary bodies:
• Commission on the legal and social status of Women (2023-2027)
• Executive Board of #UNICEF (2023-2025)
• Commission on Science and Technology for Development (2023-2026)
• Committee of non-governmental organizations (2023-2026)
The election took place by acclamation, demonstrating the prestige of the island worldwide, and more specifically, within the UN and its work in favor of the promotion and protection of all human rights, for all.
