Cuba has garnered international recognition in terms of traceability and productive use of international collaboration funds, and is appreciative of the many countries willing to cooperate with our nation.
This was confirmed by Magaly Estrada Díaz, general director for Collaboration at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment (Mincex), emphasizing the transparency with which these funds are handled.
The Cuban Chamber of Commerce website reported that, according to Estrada, more than 400 registered international cooperation projects are currently underway in the country, involving more than 30 countries, 54 non-governmental organizations and solidarity associations, and more than 64 research centers and universities.
The information was shared during the first 2022 training workshop for partner companies, organized to ensure understandingof Decree-Law 16 and its complementary resolutions, and at the same time, expand awareness of the opportunities that international cooperation offers state enterprises, private companies and cooperatives.
The Mincex director of collaboration added that the updating of regulations governing these projects, currently in the process of implementation, is meant to eliminate obstacles that hinder such activity, and concretize the government’s intention to promote collaboration, in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Shealso referred to the development of a virtual platform by the Cuban company Desoft, to facilitate access to all information of interest related to this area, which is expected to be ready before the end of this year.
