Grenadian parliamentarian Peter David, in an interview cited by local media, addressed the current situation in Cuba and the historical solidarity that this country has shown to the Caribbean. His statements emphasized the gratitude that neighbouring nations should maintain toward Cuban cooperation.
In a context of increasing economic pressures and food and fuel shortages that Cuba faces due to imperialist hostility, David stated: “We, as a people, should be grateful for Cuba's contribution to our development. I believe there is much we could and should do,” the Grenadian politician affirmed.
The parliamentarian recalled that, despite being a poor country, Cuba has been generous with Grenada and the entire region. “It is thanks to Cuba that many children of workers have degrees in engineering, medicine, and other disciplines,” he expressed, underscoring that Cuban cooperation has been crucial for access to higher education for several generations of Caribbean people.
Peter David, who has a distinguished political career in Grenada, has repeatedly stressed the importance of Cuba and Grenada maintaining their ties of solidarity and cooperation.
