Cuba invited to transfer of authority ceremony in ECOWAS.

Nigeria, July 14, 2022.- The Cuban ambassador to this country, Clara M. Pulido Escandell, was invited to participate in the transfer of authority ceremony of the Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) based in Abuja.

According to information from this organization, in recent days there have been significant changes as part of a regular and established process in it. The most important is that Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, a Gambian national, has taken office as the new President of the ECOWAS Commission for a four-year term. He replaces Jean-Claude Kassi Brou, an Ivorian national, who has led the Commission's affairs from 2018 to date.

Other changes in statutory administrative positions include Damtien L. Tchintchibidja, Vice President of the ECOWAS Commission; Prof. Nazifi Abdullahi Darma, Internal Services Commissioner; Dr. Abdel-Fatau Musah, Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security; Mme Massandjé Toure -Litse, Commissioner for Economic Affairs and Agriculture; Mr. Sédiko Douka, Commissioner for Infrastructure, Energy and Digitization and João Alage Mamadu Fadiá, Auditor General.

It should be noted that the Cuban ambassador presented her credentials to ECOWAS in April 2021 before Hon. Mr, Jean-Claude Kassi Brou, President of the Commission.
