Cuba makes modest contribution to Ghana's national reforestation initiative.

Accra, June 20, 2025. - As part of Cuban government and people’s commitment to preserve the environment, the Second Secretary of the Cuban Embassy in Ghana in his capacity as Chargé d'Affaires, Mr. Yamil Eduardo Martinez Marrero, participated in the opening session of the “Tree for Life Reforestation Initiative, 2025”, a programme focused on restoring degraded lands and promoting environmental sustainability in Ghana.

The project envisages planting 30 million tree seedlings nationwide and is part of a larger plan called, “Make Ghana Green Project 2025”. The initiative also aims to combat deforestation, restore water bodies and create sustainable livelihoods.
