Rarotonga, November 6-10. A delegation from Cuba, chaired by the Vice Minister of Science, Technology, and Environment, Adianez Taboada, attended the 52nd Leaders' Meeting of the Pacific Islands Forum that took place in the Cook Islands.
The Cuban delegation also made up of the director of Asia and Oceania of the Foreign Ministry, Ariel Lorenzo, and the Cuban ambassador to the Cook Islands, Edgardo Valdés, held numerous meetings with Prime Ministers, foreign ministers, and other high-ranking personalities in attendance.
They had a productive exchange with the Prime Minister of the Cook Islands, Honorable Mark Brown.
Cuba has a long history of relations and cooperation with the Pacific Islands and more than 200 professionals from that region have graduated from Cuban universities.
As a Dialogue Partner of the Forum, Cuba presented initiatives to deepen cooperation and jointly face common problems.
