Cuban officials and representatives participated, along with authorities from the United Arab Emirates, foreign ministers, and high-ranking representatives from our region, in the World Summit of Governments held in Dubai from February 2 to 5, 2026.
The Cuban Ambassador to the UAE, Norberto Carlos Escalona Carrillo, spoke in his capacity as Cuba's representative at the 10th International Cooperation Conference of the Association of Caribbean States, where he advocated for Cuba's right to development, cooperation, and the preservation of Latin America as a Zone of Peace, declared in 2014 by the countries of that continent. He also strongly condemned the criminal US blockade, which he described as an open war against Cuba and against all the dignified peoples of the world.
