Cuba participated in the 16th Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)

The 16th Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) was held in Abu Dhabi on January 10, 11, and 12, 2026 and Cuba participated, represented by its Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Norberto Carlos Escalona Carrillo, and also took part in the Ministerial Meeting of Small Island Developing Countries and in the panel "Roadmap for the Renewable Future in the Latin America and Caribbean Subregion."

Throughout the event, Cuba's commitment to sustainable development was emphasized, along with its collaboration on the regional strategic vision, aligned with global decarbonization and energy security goals, and the strengthening of South-South cooperation for developing the essential capacities to realize the renewable energy potential of the Caribbean and Latin America.
