Cuba Participated in OPCW Induction Workshop

The Hague, October 22, 2025. The Permanent Representative of Cuba to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), Eva Yelina Silva Walker, took part in the Induction Workshop offered by the Organization's Technical Secretariat for new diplomats.

The workshop is designed to serve as a practical guide for delegates in their activities with the OPCW and consisted of presentations, discussions, and exchange activities among participants, as well as a visit to the Center for Chemistry and Technology.

The day began with remarks by the Director General of the OPCW, Fernando Arias, who updated participants on the work of the Organization and the main processes in which it was participating.

It was structured into three panels, which covered the main areas of work of the OPCW, as well as the functions of its main bodies.

Cuba participates annually in this important preparatory event to contribute to its relationship with the Organization and strengthen its capabilities in implementing the Convention.
