New York, March 11, 2024.- The secretary general of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), Teresa Amarelle Boué, heads the Cuban delegation to the 68th annual session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) of the United Nations.
The CSW68, which will meet this year during March 11- 22, will have as its priority theme “Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective” .
The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the leading international intergovernmental body dedicated exclusively to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women.
The FMC is the national mechanism for the advancement of women in Cuba and at the same time a non-governmental organization with consultative status before ECOSOC.
