May Pen, 20 May 2023. Members of the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica participated in the celebrations for the 43rd anniversary of the founding of the Garvey-Maceo High School, one of the institutions donated by the people and government of Cuba to our sister Caribbean nation.
During his words to those present, Second Secretary Rolando Dávila Gallardo invited the students to continue with the study of the life and work of Antonio Maceo. He ratified the will of the Cuban Revolution to continue to support the education of Jamaican children and youth, despite the limitations imposed by the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.
Students, graduates and teachers, who identify themselves as Cubanz, acknowledged the historic ties of brotherhood and cooperation that unite the two nations.
