Leiden, November 13, 2024. The Cuban Embassy attended the Japanese Tables Evening, an event organized by the Dutch United Nations Student Association-Leiden (SIB-Leiden, DUNSA) at Leiden City Hall.
In this traditional annual event, students from Leiden University meet with diplomats from different countries in an informal atmosphere. Students from various disciplines sat at the table with the representative of the Cuban Embassy and during several rounds all kinds of topics were discussed: international relations, the impacts of the economic blockade, Cuban culture and traditions, diplomatic life in the Netherlands, among others.
On this occasion, the event was attended by more than 50 diplomats and more than 200 students.
It was an appropriate space for Cuba to reiterate its commitment to international law, condemn the blockade against the Cuban population and explain Cuba's progress towards multilateralism.
The students expressed their gratitude for the exchange, considering it very useful and interesting.
