The Cuban ambassador in Baku, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo and the graduate María de Jesús Ávila Lozano, graduated in economics planning at the National University of Azerbaijan, in Soviet times, participated in the first meeting of foreign graduates of the universities of Azerbaijan and at the round table: "Invest in the future: towards sustainable and inclusive development" that took place in the Diplomatic Academy of this Caucasian nation.
During the day the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov, stressed that the main objective of the establishment of the Association is to unite foreign students educated in Azerbaijan and establish contacts with their universities.
He stressed that after obtaining independence more than 15,000 foreign students from different countries of the world studied in Azerbaijan.
They support the Association; the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Agency for International Development of Azerbaijan (AIDA) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
