Cairo, October 12, 2025. Cuba will be represented by the feature film Habanastation at the Ibero-American film festival to be held in the cities of Cairo and Alexandria between the 7th and 26th of this month.
Thirteen countries are participating in the film festival, which is organized each year by the Ibero-American embassies accredited in Egypt, with films that showcase the culture and reality of our nations, which will contribute to a greater understanding of our peoples by the Egyptians who will attend the screenings.
Habanastation is a 2011 Cuban feature film directed by Ian Padrón and starring child actors from the children's theater company La Colmenita. The film has received several awards at major festivals worldwide.
In addition to the film screening, a photographic exhibition featuring archaeological sites in Latin America will also be organized in the city of Alexandria. In the case of Cuba, the Chorro de Maíta Aboriginal Museum was chosen as one of the most important sites in Cuban archaeology, as it preserves one of the oldest and best-preserved indigenous cemeteries in the Caribbean.
