Cuba participates in Ibero-American foreign ministers' meeting

Havana, November 30, 2020. Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez participates on Monday in the Special Meeting of the Ibero-American Ministers of Foreign Affairs.

According to a note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting is held virtually under the slogan 'Innovation for the 2030 Sustainable Development Goal. Ibero-America facing the challenge of the Coronavirus.'

Cuban First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Ana Teresita Gonzalez, who is responsible for the cooperation programs in the organization, also attends the meeting.

According to the website of the 27th Ibero-American Summit 2020, the foreign ministers address issues discussed in preparatory exchanges, where they highlight the need for a joint action to fight the serious health, economic and social consequences of Covid-19.

The declaration of the meeting is expected to include the urgency of a 'global and coordinated response to the current crisis, so that the recovery is inclusive, sustainable and resilient,' Gonzalez says.

During the pandemic, Cuba has defended these positions in different international events and cooperates directly in confronting the disease by sending medical brigades.
