Kingston, Jamaica, 16 November, 2019. As part of the celebrations on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the International Seabed Authority (ISA), the International Conference on the Legal, Scientific and Economic Aspects of Deep Seabed Mining was held in this capital from November 14 to 16.
The conference brought together foreign scholars and experts from the legal and scientific community, including representatives of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, the Preparatory Commission for the Law of the Sea Convention and the International Seabed Authority.
The keynote speaker of the Conference was Mr. Patrick Robinson, judge of the International Court of Justice.
Cuba was represented by the Ambassador of that country to Jamaica, who also holds the status of Representative of the Greatest Island of the Antilles to the ISA.
