Cuba participates in workshop with CARICOM to strengthen resilience and data systems

Georgetown, December 15. The Secretariat of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), and the United Nations Statistics Division and Sustainable Development Goals Division (UNDESA) are holding a regional workshop on the implementation of the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the Caribbean, with the aim of strengthening resilience and data systems. The initiative was adopted at the Fourth International Conference on SIDS in Antigua and Barbuda in May 2024 and was endorsed by the United Nations General Assembly in July 2024.Representing Cuba at the event is Ms. Evelyn López León, Director General of Information and Computerization at the National Office of Statistics and Information (ONEI). The workshop will contribute to implementing a coherent strategy for the Caribbean and will facilitate the integration and strengthening of the region's statistical capacities.
