The Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) sent a message to the Guyanese Solidarity with Cuba on the occasion of celebrating the 59th Anniversary of the Independence of this sister Caribbean nation. We reaffirm our commitment to the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Cuba and Guyana, based on the shared principles of solidarity, social justice, and anti-imperialism

Cuba reaffirms its willingness to continue strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation with Guyana.
Georgetown, May 19, 2025. With the presence of Mr. Rafael Méndez, the prominent cultural promoter and artisan artist of the Cuban Association of Artisans and Artists (ACAA), an exchange with representatives of Guyanese culture took place at the Cuban Embassy in Guyana. The meeting allowed for a closer look at the diversity of the two countries. The presence of creators from different Guyanese ethnic communities was positive, coordinated by Guyanese entrepreneur Marlon Joseph, who led his country's representation.

The U.S. government once again discredits itself by unjustly including Cuba on the List of countries that “do not fully cooperate with its anti-terrorism efforts”.
Once again, the State Department turns the fight against international terrorism into a unilateral political exercise against countries that do not bow to its hegemonic interests.

In respect of CARICOM-Cuba relations, the COFCOR noted the decision of the Government of the United States of America (US) to expand the visa restrictions policy to include foreign government officials of countries considered by the US to be exploiting Cuban health professionals; reiterated the Community’s profound gratitude for Cuba’s assistance to the Region and expressed concerns regarding the implications of the expanded policy for the health sectors of CARICOM Member States.
