Guyana, Georgetown, November 9, 2025. The Ambassador of Cuba to the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Jorge Francisco Soberón Luis, participated alongside representatives of the accredited diplomatic corps in the country and government authorities in the ceremony honoring those fallen in the First and Second World Wars. During the ceremony, the Cuban Ambassador laid a wreath.
Guyana, Georgetwon, August 13, 2025. GUYANA’S growing demand for qualified medical personnel has received a welcome boost with the graduation of five more Guyanese doctors from the University of Medical Sciences of Havana, Cuba.
The newly-minted physicians: Dr. Savanna Sumintra Pearson, Dr. Ronichia Schwiers, Dr. Christopher Lakish, Dr. Renecia Mickle, and Dr. Alexander Giddel Isaacs, will soon return home to serve under the Ministry of Health.

The Guyana Peace Council (GPC) greets the seventy-second (72nd) anniversary of the attack on the Moncada barracks in the province of Santiago de Cuba and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes in Bayamo, by a dedicated and heroic group of Cuban revolutionaries led by Fidel Castro. Moncada marked a high point in the long and heroic struggle of the Cuban people for national and social liberation. The Guyana Peace Council greets the Cuban people who, over the years, have endured the hardships imposed by the harsh and inhumane blockade of the United States.

Georgetown, Guyana, July 7, 2025. The president of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, held a friendly exchange with the prime minister of India, Narendra Modi in the XVII BRICS Summit. During the meeting, areas of economic-commercial interest, cooperation, and investments that currently exist between India and Cuba were analyzed, reaffirming the excellent state of bilateral relations between both countries. The Cuban leader particularly thanked India for its support in enabling the Island to be part of the group of nations that make up the BRICS.
