Cuba congratulates Caricom on its 52nd anniversary

Guyana, Georgetown July 4, 2025. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, sent congratulations today to the governments and peoples of the Caribbean Community (Caricom), on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of its founding. On the social media platform X, the Foreign Minister reaffirmed Cuba's unwavering solidarity with the region and the willingness to continue cooperation for the benefit of the peoples. Caricom was established on this date in 1973 with the signing of the Chaguaramas Treaty, which set forth the goals of promoting the equitable and harmonious development of its partners, coordinating foreign policy and trade, and strengthening cooperation in the economic, agricultural, industrial, transportation, and telecommunications sectors. Cuba and Caricom maintain a relationship of solidarity and collaboration, especially regarding the development of human capacities, health services, and cooperation.
