Foundation of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM)

The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Barbados extends its warmest congratulations to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) on the occasion of the 53rd anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Chaguaramas, the founding instrument of this regional organization.

For more than five decades, CARICOM has stood as an example of unity, integration, mutual respect, and cooperation among the peoples of the Caribbean, fostering sustainable development, political coordination, and the promotion of the region's common interests.

Cuba congratulates Caricom on its 52nd anniversary

Guyana, Georgetown July 4, 2025. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, sent congratulations today to the governments and peoples of the Caribbean Community (Caricom), on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of its founding. On the social media platform X, the Foreign Minister reaffirmed Cuba's unwavering solidarity with the region and the willingness to continue cooperation for the benefit of the peoples.

Statement on Cuba

Guyana, Georgetown february 28 2025. The Forty-Eighth Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community is gravely concerned with the continuing deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Cuba resulting from the embargo imposed on the people and Government of Cuba by the Government of the United States of America.

The Conference renews its call for the lifting of the unilateral financial, economic, and trade embargo and for Cuba to be immediately removed from the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism.
