The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Barbados extends its warmest congratulations to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) on the occasion of the 53rd anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Chaguaramas, the founding instrument of this regional organization.
For more than five decades, CARICOM has stood as an example of unity, integration, mutual respect, and cooperation among the peoples of the Caribbean, fostering sustainable development, political coordination, and the promotion of the region's common interests.
Cuba maintains deep historical, cultural, and fraternal ties with the Member States of CARICOM, founded on the principles of respect, solidarity, and cooperation. Over the years, the relationship between Cuba and CARICOM has demonstrated the value of Caribbean integration and joint action in addressing common challenges and promoting the well-being of our peoples.
On this significant occasion, the Government of Cuba reaffirms its commitment to further strengthening the bonds of friendship, solidarity, and cooperation that unite it with the peoples and governments of the Caribbean, as well as with the institutions of CARICOM, convinced that regional unity will continue to serve as an essential pillar for building a future of greater prosperity, peace, and development for the region.
