The Secretariat of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), and the United Nations Statistics Division and Sustainable Development Goals Division (UNDESA) are holding a regional workshop on the implementation of the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the Caribbean, with the aim of strengthening resilience and data systems.
December 8, 2025 (CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) – The eighth of December 2025 marks the Fifty-Third Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago, the four then independent Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Member States, and Cuba. That bold act of 8 December 1972 has evolved steadily into a fruitful and mutually beneficial friendship between all CARICOM Member States and Cuba.
